#The Inspiration Behind Sattvayan: Building with Intention
Before we wrote the first line of code or drew the first wireframe for Sattvayan, something deeper shaped our direction โ a need for meaningful alignment between purpose, people, and product.
#๐ It Started With the "Why"
โPeople donโt buy what you do, they buy why you do it.โ โ Simon Sinek
We took inspiration from Simon Sinekโs Golden Circle:
- Why: We wanted to create a space where wellness, learning, and digital craftsmanship could coexist.
- How: By applying solid software engineering principles to a passion project.
- What: A digital platform for yoga and wellness that includes blogs, forums, jobs, and learning content โ all built with Laravel.

#๐ฏ Strategy Rooted in Value
From the start, we followed this strategic philosophy:
- Create Value
- Exchange Value for Money
But not just market value. The goal was to deliver:
- ๐ Human Value: Help people find wellness, purpose, and mindful living
- ๐ Societal Value: Elevate community conversation around yoga, mental health, and holistic well-being
- ๐ผ Market Value: Enable monetizable services like workshops, job listings, and paid memberships

#๐งโโ๏ธ Building Something that Feels Right
Another motivation was beautifully captured in this quote:
โIf you donโt know what to pursue in life right now, pursue yourself.โ
This became the emotional compass behind Sattvayan. It reminded us: Wellness isn't a luxury โ it's foundational. And building something good for the world is also building a better version of yourself.

#๐ Time, Mindset & Balance
The 8+8+8 Rule helped frame our thinking around balance โ in both life and product philosophy.
- 8 hours of hard work
- 8 hours of rest
- 8 hours of soul, service, and joy (the very soul of Sattvayan)
This approach shaped how we thought about content modules like:
- Daily wellness tips
- Community service threads in forums
- Mindful design patterns (e.g., dark mode, minimal notifications)

#๐ฑ The 80/20 Principle in Life
We also internalized the 80/20 Principle (Paretoโs Law) across life and work:
- Health: 80% eating, 20% exercising
- Wealth: 80% habits, 20% math
- Talking: 80% listening, 20% speaking
- Learning: 80% understanding, 20% reading
- Achieving: 80% doing, 20% dreaming
- Happiness: 80% purpose, 20% fun
- Relationships: 80% giving, 20% receiving
- Improving: 80% persistence, 20% ideas
This principle inspired us to focus on the few impactful things that drive most results โ in product decisions, code quality, and user value.

#๐ ๏ธ Software Design with Intention
Sattvayan is shaped by timeless software design principles that keep our codebase clean, modular, and maintainable:
- KISS (Keep it Simple, Stupid) โ simplicity over unnecessary complexity
- DRY (Donโt Repeat Yourself) โ avoid duplication
- YAGNI (You Ainโt Gonna Need It) โ build only whatโs needed
- Principle of Least Astonishment โ intuitive features that donโt surprise users
- Principle of Modularity โ well-separated, independent components
- Principle of Abstraction โ exposing only whatโs necessary
- Principle of Encapsulation โ hiding internal details
- Principle of Least Knowledge โ minimal coupling between components

#๐จ From Intention to Implementation
This isnโt just another Laravel SaaS side-project. Hereโs what weโve actually built so far:
- ๐งฑ Ideation: Clear "Why," problem space, and architecture diagrams in Draw.io
- ๐ Tooling: Laravel setup with CI/CD, linting, Husky, Prettier, and Debugbar
- ๐ SaaS Auth: Laravel Breeze with Blade + Alpine, Pest, and dark mode
- โ๏ธ Content Modules (Work-in-Progress): Blogs, forums, job board, and yoga tips
#Final Thought
Sattvayan was born from a place of self-reflection, community spirit, and engineering excellence. Itโs as much a personal wellness project as it is a digital product โ built slowly, mindfully, and intentionally.
Maybe the right product path reveals itself when you pursue yourself.
